BANKING HOURS

Most banks offer a full range of banking services. Local bank branches offering a shop front service are becoming increasingly rare and electronic facilities are the most common form of banking.

Automatic Teller Machines (ATM) are widely available and most shops and restaurants offer EFTPOS (Electronic Funds Transfer Point of Sale).

Many international banks operate in Australia. While they do not have the extensive interstate branch networks of local banks, some have ATMs or can be accessed through an Australian ATM.

General Banking Hours are Monday to Thursday 9.30 am to 4pm and Friday 9.30am-5pm. Some banks are open Saturdays.

WHAT THE LOCALS SAY
What did people do before ATMs and EFTPOS? I'd be lost without a piece of plastic - probably a good thing I don't live in the jungle!
